insta week in review

One of these things is not like the others…

I recently had one of those coast into the gas station holding my breath because I wasn’t sure I had enough gas left to make it to the pump moments. I’m not in the habit of those and I can’t actually explain what happened this time. I will say that because I stopped to get gas at that moment in that neighborhood (far from my regular haunts) I got to see the McDonald’s shown above. It was a drive-through with walk-up windows. No inside sit-down at all. It was all very George Jetson-y and gave me a much need smile at the end of an exhausting week. It’s not often that irresponsibility (see empty gas tank) leads to a serendipitous encounter.

The next day I went to my parents in PA, where most of the action was in the garden of course. I potted up some herbs in my mother’s potting shed. Fingers crossed they’ll survive the harshness of the environment of my kitchen windowsill. If all goes well I’ll attempt some cutting lettuce again. I do miss my old deck garden.
