When babies are born to my family or friends, I like to give stuffed animals. Of course, I’m not trying to just give any stuffed animal. I’m really trying to give the stuffed animal…the one that baby will never want to let go of. The one that might drive his or her parents just a little nuts because it becomes just that important for years to come.
How do I know if I’ve succeeded?
Well, if she takes him everywhere…
…if she tells me he is her very best friend…
…if I find myself thinking it might be nice if I had something to cling to in the dark…
…I probably got that one right.
