if you were visiting me today

You might catch me listening to Lower Lights. I keep thinking I’ll get tired of their album but I haven’t yet. Hymns don’t have to be stuffy at all.

tidy corner

Here’s a image of the some of the aprons I mentioned my mother making around Christmas time. These belong to my sister and her three daughters. When not in use they make a wonderfully colorful tableau on her kitchen wall.

polka dotted aprons!

inspiration

This is making me homesick for the years of being able to read all day long, even though those were also the years I survived on Ramen soup and canned green beans. Makes me want to find a quiet corner and a plate of something to keep up a marathon reading session. I’m behind on [...]

oh Baby!!

A few weeks ago while stopped in traffic I noticed an interesting picture composition framed by my sunroof. An old-fashioned street lamp and lacy tree branches. never enough time

This weekend I spent a few hours with sister number 1 and my grandmother at a workshop on composition and perspective by Fritz Briggs of the Schuler School of Fine Arts. Tuesday I am going to indulge in a little photography learnin’. Of course, there will be the usual fortnightly guitar lesson and a new [...]

if you were visiting me today

you might catch me listening to this Radiolab broadcast. For the third time. I’ve been looking for ways to overcome myself and my own lack of motivation – this episode features people doing just that.

I’m not one to care so much about awards, but I’m thrilled that Radiolab has won a Peabody award. [...]
