Our family Thanksgiving this year was a quiet one. Only 17 people gathered round my grandparents’ extended table. With more adults than children! As a benchmark, consider that on Sunday the first four pews at church held something like 25 members of my family. Saturday I spent a little time with some serious quilters. They were very gracious to me – not mocking me for completely having a brain block about where to begin.
