A few last random kid pictures from this weekend’s wedding.
[...] One of the fun parts of this weekend’s wedding reception was that the next generation seemed to start to come into their own as part of the process. Starting with peeling shrimp in mid-afternoon all the way to cleanup activities, not to mention helping out earlier in the week, they really rolled up their sleeves [...] We are a DIY family – by necessity and by nature. Some people see a pretty thing and have conversations about whether they would want to own it. In our family the conversation is more likely to be about whether or how we would make a version of it for ourselves. We’ve got the wedding [...] My uncle’s wedding was this past weekend. I’ll be posting a few days of photos. The blog will return to normal next week.

When the stereo and car were new, of course, though somehow it’s difficult to think of that car as anything but the battle-scarred hulk that was finally hauled away many many miles later. Anyway, [...] beach sketch Another sketch on the beach. This time the model knew she was being drawn. The pastels and paper were a little rough for this six by six sketch, but it was good to get loose and play. When having a bad day I have a place to run to for sanctuary. I could and do wish that some more of the spaces in my life offered it as a matter of course. But today I’m concentrating on being grateful that I have sanctuary at all. beach sketch – pencil in six by six sketchbook This was a first for me – a sketch of a subject who did not know he was posing. It was tricky. His left calf never worked out and neither did his right shoulder but it was a fun experience. [...] |
